Help

Since Excellent Analytics is 100% free to download and use for everyone, but has taken many, many, hundreds of hours to develop, we are unfortunately not able to provide free support for everyone, all of the time. We can help with bugs, but if you want to know how to use the tool or what it can do, we have to refer you to the FAQ and online documentation. If you want to contact a service company, read on.

We encourage everyone to download the tool and play around with it. After all, it’s 100% free!

Support/help with analysis or how to use the tool
If you need help regarding the use of the tool, we recommend that you contact a Google Analytics Certified Partner. They do not work for free, but they have been carefully vetted by Google and meet rigorous qualification standards. Those are the service companies we recommend.

You may also e-mail feedback&excellentanalytics.com (replace & with @), but we can only help you with questions that relate to using the tool, not with questions related to analysis (that you have to buy from a certified partner).

Feature requests
If you would like to suggest an improvement/a new feature, please do so in our feedback forum.

Bugs
If you believe you have found a bug in Excellent Analytics, please read our FAQ and make sure you have understood how to use the tool before you report it. Most reported bugs are in fact not bugs, but incorrect uses of the tool. We strive to continuously improve our FAQ.

We have responded to all e-mails received to date, but the fewer e-mails we have to respond to, the more time we can put into making new releases of the tool instead. We do not have unlimited time to pour into this free, non-profit, project. We do (believe it or not) have to spend some of our time on paid projects as well.

If you do think you have found a bug to report, please e-mail feedback&excellentanalytics.com (replace & with @).

The following information should be included in your e-mail, or we may not be able to help you:

  • version of Excellent Analytics
  • version of .NET
  • operating system
  • version of Excel
  • If you used the msi or the exe for installation
  • if it’s the first time you’ve installed Excellent Analytics
  • whether you have tried an uninstall+reinstall
  • if you are behind a proxy
  • if you have read our FAQ
  • if you have tested your query (if it’s a query issue) in the Data Feed Query Explorer provided by Google
  • your query (copy+paste if a query issue)

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We do not want to be troublesome, we just want to make sure we can dedicate more time to making the tool better rather than providing free consultancy.

Having said that, we have never ignored a single e-mail, but if the volume of e-mails not regarding bugs grows too large, at some point we won’t be able to respond to everyone (remember, we do this for free!). Therefore, please help us keep the volume down.
